Costa Rica Tour to Carara Park

点评：My wife and I did a tour of Carara park with Giovana and the Mangrove boat tour on the Tarcoles river with Jose as guide and Juan as the driver. The salesman who helped us was named Greg. He was located at the edge of the beach near the pier at the Fiesta Resort.
From the Fiesta resort it was a 25min drive to the dock and there were bathrooms available. Once on the river we saw many crocodiles including the alpha croc of the river named after a twin tower icon. The ride was smooth and the banter friendly and informative. So many birds! I’m new to photography and was overwhelmed with the opportunities to capture stunning images. Pelicans, frigate birds, egrets, kingfishers and more, many, many more.
The second part of the tour was Carara park with Giovana. On the way to the park she made sure we saw some Macaws. This woman really knows her stuff and if you’re looking for a guide she is excellent and we both would highly recommend. We toured two parts of the Carara park and Giovana was able to help us identify multiple birds and monkeys. We even got to experience one of the parks deadly venomous snakes curled up next to the side of the path. (Shout out to the German tourists, guideless, wearing open sandals, Schlechte Entscheidung)
The price for the excursion was $340 American for the two of us. May have been less if there were more people but it was just us. There was an opportunity to stop for coffee and snacks as well as buying souvenirs. Food was not included.
