点评:We stayed in Agonda for two nights from 10th to 12th March, where this Beach is the main attraction.
The beach with it's golden sand stretches along the coast for about three kilometres. It is situated in a bay which is enclosed by the River Saleri River and rocky headland to the north and the wonderful rock formations to the south.
On both days we walked along the beach but in opposite directions. On day one we walked along Agonda Beach Road as far as the Saleri River at the end of the Beach. We walked back from there along the beach to Dunhill Restaurant, roughly two kilometres.
Along the land at the back of the beach, not on the beach, were numerous beach hut resorts accommodation, restaurants and bars.
There were a number of fishing and boats used for trips landed up on the beach, we did see a large yacht on the sand at the back of the beach.
On the way we visited the Cotigao Nature Reserve, where turtle eggs are protected in secure nests until they hatch.
There were no sunbeds or umbrellas along the beach, it is not permitted unless contained within the grounds of restaurants or resorts. Agonda Beach has been designated a Turtle Nesting site for Olive Ridley Turtles. The Beach is a significant nesting area.
Although there were no sunbeds on the beach there was so much space to spread out towels and beach mats on the sand, relax and enjoy the beautiful beach.
We did notice some water sports activities on the beach including swimming, canoeing, kayaking and boat tours. There were also a variety of yoga activities.
We stayed in the Dunhill Beach Resort, they provided sunbeds and umbrellas, for their guests, on land adjacent to the restaurant.
There were a few makeshift huts on the beach, constructed with bamboo and netting, which were used by people selling boat trips and tours.
The second day we walked along the road as far as the Restaurant, On the Rocks, from there we made our way to the Beach and on to the formations and Salloo's Rock, a distance of about a kilometre. This was definitely the quieter end of the Beach.
Once more were saw many fishings boats beached on the sand, as we walked back to our accommodation along the beach. We can say that we walked the entire length of the beach.
While we were here the Authorities were in the process of dismantling a large number of illegal beach huts and businesses, this was predominantly down the Southend part of the beach, near the rock formations.
