I felt disrespected and intimidated

点评：I visited the Old Biscuit Mill today because I’m recently retired and my car was being serviced close by. I rocked up at 8.05 am and received a hostile and intimidating stare from the security guard. He obviously has to discourage the locals with his glare but I’m a 65 year retired teacher and felt offended. I said nothing and went to sit on a yellow couch waiting for Redemption Burgers to open. I had a delicious and memorable breakfast and then visited each shop. All the shop assistants were kind, friendly and helpful but the prices were obviously geared for those with dollars, euros and pounds.
I returned to buy lunch but by this time Redemption Burgers were swamped so I decided not to eat there. I returned to the yellow couch to rest for a few minutes as my car was not yet ready. After a few minutes the shop assistant asked me to leave as they discouraged people from sitting around. He did this abruptly and rudely. I was deeply offended and angrily shouted at him that he was rude and could have asked me politely and respectfully to leave. He called the security guard and I decided to leave. I then told the security guard how I felt about his hostility and intimidation.
This centre clearly serves well heeled tourists but needs to remember that the locals and especially the elderly deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
