Great, relaxing trip!
Kayak Horseshoe Bend的点评
点评：This was a wonderful and relaxing trip down the Colorado. I wish I could do this every week. Captain Troy and backhaul crew were very helpful and gracious answering all of our questions (and retrieving my sons baseball cap after it blew off). They gave us a tour of the major sites of the canyon while going upriver and helped us understand what it would mean to be dropped off at 5 vs 10 vs 15 miles upriver. My 13 year old and I elected to make a day of it and get dropped off just short of the dam. I was a little worried we would be exhausted at the end of the day but it wasn't nearly as tiring as I thought it would be (river doing most of the work for you).
The company's website can make it seem like you are just going to be dropped off and be on your own but I think they are just trying to give you a healthy respect for the fact you will be in a wilderness environment and need to plan accordingly. As a practical matter, we saw our backhaul crew again further down river and they were waiting to help us out when we arrived back at Lee"s Ferry. Other boats also passed us on the river every 30 minutes or so.
I've done whitewater before which is a lot of fun but I prefer this slower, quieter and calmer trip to reset and forget about work for awhile. I highly recommend the Kayak Horshoe Bend team.
