Still a Beautiful Farm Experience – Just Wish We’d Been Better Informed

点评：This was our second visit to Splitters Farm after having an amazing first experience, and we were excited to return. Feeding the rescue animals is always a real highlight — it’s such a special and memorable part of staying here.
However, we were disappointed to find out upon arrival that the only camp kitchen, dam, and surrounding area would be unavailable to camping guests due to a wedding, from midday of our two-night stay until after we were due to leave. While we’re very happy for the wedding couple, it was frustrating not to have been informed about this at the time of booking, as it impacted our stay quite a lot. We had planned to use the beautiful kitchen area for meals and to enjoy a BBQ, and it’s normally a lovely spot to meet other campers. Instead, we could barely access it and had to rethink our meal plans on arrival.
Additionally, we had purposely chosen a site close to the amenities for convenience with kids, but this backfired as the wedding noise went on until at least 1:30am, meaning we barely slept. The bathrooms also saw a lot more use with the wedding guests, but the cleaning and maintenance didn’t seem to keep up with the extra demand.
Splitters Farm is not a budget campground, so it was disappointing to pay premium prices while key facilities were unavailable.
It’s still a beautiful place and we do love it, but better communication would have made a big difference. If campers are going to lose access to major facilities due to events like weddings, this should be clearly stated before booking so we can plan accordingly.
