点评:We started our hike on the White Blaze Canyon Loop Trail, which circles the canyons. From that trail, we hiked canyons 6-9 and then went back and hiked canyons 1-3. As everyone says, the canyon floor is wet, so we all wore waterproof hiking boots and were completely comfortable. On the day we were there, it rained a bit, but that did not deter us as the trees provided a good bit of shelter. We hiked with our two dogs (rough collies), and by the time we were heading back to the Visitor Center, they were ready to call it a day. We spent about 2.5 hours hiking. After our hike, we cleaned our hiking boots and the dogs' feet at the water station available to visitors and ate our picnic lunch at one of the many picnic tables at the Visitor Center.
Before you hike, be sure to stop by the Visitor Center and get a park map. The map does need some improvement, but it is still helpful. The White Blaze Canyon Loop Trail also needs some work (beginning of this trail is fairly steep and the netting they placed there was rolled up, creating a trip hazard) and so does the signage along the trail (some signs were hidden by foliage) but all in all it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours.
The views are spectacular, especially from the Overlook near the entrance/exit of the park. You can see the canyon walls from the canyon floor, but the real views, in my opinion, are at that Overlook. Even if you are in the area and not prepared for a hike, stop by and take in the views from there. You will not regret it!
