点评:Firstly, the cruise up the Mekon Delta is immensely interesting. All the canals and various side routes are varied and spectacular. That part was great. The boat was full but plenty of room to move around and find a seat. We found the cabin space okay. There is air conditioning though it is just blowing 25 degree air - cooler than outside but it could have been a bit cooler for me. We did use the shower and found it easy to use and not get water inside the cabin. There were two downers for us. Firstly, they did not seem to understand dietary needs. There was confusion over my vegetarian request - no meat or seafood, yet they still seemed to want to feed me chicken and shrimp. My first lunch was very boring (rice and morning glory), but there was always plenty of food so dinner and breakfast were fine for me. Not so for my wife who is gluten free/coeliac. We had a card that explained this in Vietnamese; we spoke to the staff on arrival and double-checked every course that came out. She was fine for lunch and enjoyed the seafood. But there was continual confusion during the evening meal with plates being placed on the table, then being taken away again and replaced by another one. Unfortunately, amongst all this confusion, a mistake was made and she spent from midnight to 2 am spewing into the toilet and all over the bathroom floor. Really, in the last few years we had 3 weeks in Madagascar and 3 weeks in Costa Rice eating in many places without a problem, but our second night here in Vietnam was a disaster. She needs several days to recover properly from gluten poisoning; I was very disappointed. Our second gripe was understanding exactly what was going on, especially with regard to the activities. We had received an itinerary from our tour organizer, and we received an information letter on arrival at the boat which was slightly different, then the announcements were different again with different times, and it proved impossible to find out in advance what an "activity" actually was. I appreciate there are different languages required on the boat, but there were several English couples in addition to use and we were all confused. Writing up the schedule on a blackboard or similar would be an easy fix. We did love his singing at conclusion of dinner. For others, I still highly recommend cruising up the Mekon Delta, it is an experience not to be missed but if you have special dietary requirements you may want to cater for yourself or take a different tour.
