点评：I find myself hunting for the right uncliched words to describe our experience in Patagonia with ISO100. We have been on guided wildlife adventures in Tanzania, Botswana, Australia, Churchill Manitoba, Denali National Park, and Katmai National Park and this trip vaulted right up to the top two of all time. Being in the field with Miguel and Nico was like exploring with your best friends who happen to be experts about the area and its wildlife. From the moment of our first pick up, these gentlemen-and I do mean gentlemen, opening the vehicle doors for us-could not have been friendlier, more cordial, informative and accommodating to two people they had never met. Outlining the plans, offering refreshments, listening to what we were interested in, providing information about Torres Del Paine National Park and the surrounding area plus answering any questions we had about what we were seeing. Add in the fact they were able to spot and point out wildlife we never would have seen on our own and it all adds up to an adventure not soon to be forgotten.
Nico is just such a remarkable young man, with all his life experience around the world creating many great stories shared while we searched for the elusive Puma. We enjoyed his company and skills greatly. And Miguel, whom we had heard about prior to our arrival, has tracking and observation skills that led us to the opportunity to view seven different cats during our four trips into the field over two days. We would be conversing with Nico and he would interpret for Miguel (who is much more comfortable in Spanish but was never an issue) and when he answered and Nico told us of his reply, it was always either very informative or laugh out loud funny. He is also an excellent photographer which added to our experience as he provided us with some stunning shots of the cats. Nico was kind enough during our closest encounter with the Puma to take my SD card from my amateur camera and put it into his higher end camera to get photos and video during the same period. Thank you both so much!
If you have the itch to view Puma-cougar, mountain lion-in the wild, Patagonia and the national park are a fantastic choice. Add in all the stunning mountain and lake views, the hiking opportunities, plus the additional wildlife and birds you will see such as Guanaco, Fox, Armadillo, Condor, Rhea, etc. make this location hard to beat. And if you want to get the full experience, try and arrange some time being shown this part of the world by ISO100 and if you are very lucky, by Nico and Miguel. Ellos son los mejores!
