李子坝站的点评
点评：The sight of a subway train entering through an apartment block at Liziba Station in Chongqing City has become a tourist hotspot. We alighted from our coach and crossed over to the other side of the road to join throngs of crowds to take a glimpse of this train entering process.
For a moment, I wondered if the constant noise vibration from the passing by trains would pose health hazard to the residents staying at the upper floor of the apartment block. In Singapore, where our subway train run too near a housing block, noise barriers were erected along the mrt line to reduce the impact of the deafening noise on the residents.
Down here at Chongqing, I understand from the tour guide that similar measures are taken at Liziba Station to reduce the possible impact. Since this iconic structure has become a tourist spot, I asked the tour guide who is a resident of Chongqing if the value of the said residential building has skyrocketed. He said no. While transport convenience via the subway is an advantage, the sight of the constant crowd and the noise vibration may be negative factors for anyone who want to move in to this apartment.
Nevertheless, the architectural design is unique and worth a visit to take a glimpse of the iconic structure.
