点评:We have always had great experiences aboard the M.V. Coho. Usually we are rolling loaded touring bicycles onboard from the Victoria side and returning some days later. The ship is by no means new (launched May 1959), but in a well maintained, cool way (like a vintage car). Midway through the trip it is common to have some good swells in the strait, so expect that the ship will move at some point. Tie your bike to the provided rack on the foredeck with that in mind (that's one reason why the provided ropes are there, another being wind). The mountains are stunning on the American side if the weather is clear. Also the docking procedure on the US side is interesting to watch from the top deck (a perk of being a walk-on or cyclist). Drivers will be down in the car decks at the time of the docking.
We have found that the Coho crew was professional and courteous, and have had good experiences with customs officials from both countries. Of course one's attitude toward others affects one's experiences, so remember that ship crew and customs agents are working even if you are on holiday. Have a great trip.
