点评:Early Jan 2025 was the first time we went to Gamaksan Chulleong Bridge.
We took the public transportation there starting from Myeongdong Station. The navigation was very easy with the use of Naver and the connections between the different metro lines (Line 4 and Line 1) and a bus (bus 25-1) ride was very smooth. All in all, the journey (including waiting time and walk time for transfers) took about 2.5hrs.
As it was deep winter time, there were very little people. So there was a feeling of serenity in the vast open space as we stood alone in the middle of the bridge with the sound of the temple bell ringing deeply from afar.
We attempted to scale to Gamaksan summit after crossing the bridge, but unfortunately had to turn back 45min into the hike as the trail was very slippery from the compacted snow and we didn't have our crampons with us. Also, we saw NO ONE after crossing the bridge and on the trail.
For the return journey, we took a little detour to a nearby town, Jeokseong, on bus 25-1 and had a lovely Korean lunch in a random eatery that we walked in.
After which, it was a return trip in the exact route but in reversed order.
