点评：I had read about Smilestones and have wanted to visit for some time. It is a relatively new exhibit (a few years old) and I found it to be truly fascinating and extremely detailed.
The exhibit features two large spaces that contain two large model layouts, both depicting different regions of Switzerland (a very mountainous region and somewhat flatter region). The level of detail is truly amazing and there are trains and vehicles moving throughout the layout.
Throughout the layout, there are also a number of buttons that one can push to activate different features within the layout. For example, one can cause certain figures to move in the layout, start production at the chocolate factory or even trigger an avalanche in the mountains of the Bernese Oberland.
Some castles and monuments have been perfectly replicated in miniature. A big bonus to visiting Smilestones is that it is located next to the Rhine waterfall (which one can visit outside) and the waterfall and nearby buildings (including the building that houses the Smilestones exhibit) have been replicated in exact detail in the layout. I think the Smilestones exhibit will appeal to a variety of guests: model railway and miniature enthusiasts, but also families with children and even tourists who could get a close look at some of the different landscapes of Switzerland, albeit in miniature form. I really enjoyed my visit to Smilestones and highly recommend visiting the exhibit. There is a small railway station (platform) - Neuhausen Rheinfall, located less than a 100 metres from the exhibit entrance.
