Dolphin Quest Experience was Fantastic!

点评：My adult daughter and I had an absolutely amazing visit to Dolphin Quest at the Kahala Resort in Oahu, Hawaii. We took an Uber from our Waikiki Hotel, and immediately found the facility in the middle of the resort, almost like in a courtyard, so that hotel guests can watch the dolphins at any time! The dolphins live in a clean and attractively landscaped "lagoon", very well taken care of and loved by their trainers. There were four of us in our little group (there can be up to six), all outfitted with life jackets and swim masks. We learned a lot about dolphins, and each of us gave them some of their commands (followed by yummy raw herring!). We loved getting over 100 great photos of our adventure.
Swimming with them, especially my favorite, Hoku, really has given me a peace and joy that I can call upon whenever I think about that time. They have a real aura of calm and happiness. I am so grateful we got to do this!
If you are worried about the dolphins, Dolphin Quest only has dolphins that were born in captivity (not caught in the wild), and uses them to benefit dolphins worldwide through conservation, education and research. The trainers knew and understood them as individuals, with their own personalities, and, as an animal person, you could tell the animals enjoyed their jobs (more herring, please!).
It really was the highlight of our trip. Thank, Hoku!
