点评：If you are a wine lover, the Bodegas de Santo Tomas tasting room should definitely be on your Ensenada itinerary! We didn’t have much planned for our time in port but heard that the Santo Tomás tasting room was worth it, and it was! You’ll find Plaza Santo Tomás about a 15 minute stroll from the cruise ship. I suggest printing out a map before your trip or stopping in to Starbucks on Costero Blvd. for WiFi access (which is what we did). From there it was a straight walk for a few blocks inland. Once we arrived, we found the plaza to be such a nice, clean, inviting space in the middle of Ensenada. Machinery is still on display from the time decades ago when wine was still processed there. There are also restaurants, a brewery and a mezcal room surrounding the plaza. As we entered the tasting room we enjoyed the mix of history with modern design. It can be cool inside, so if you catch a chill easily, bring a light shirt or jacket… even in warmer months! Francisco and Didi took such care of us during our tasting and tour of the museum, which is also on-site. We chose the 6 wine tasting, it was around $30 each. Good value! There was a tour group in the tasting room when we arrived. We waited for everyone to clear out and we basically had a VIP experience since we were the only ones there! I suggest visiting on your own if you want a more personalized experience. We loved it! As for the wine… we generally drink reds and really liked the Cabernet, Barbera and Tempranillo-Cabernet. The whites were nice too!
Overall, this was a great way to spend a few hours in Ensenada. We had great conversation and laughs with Francisco and Didi in the tasting room and found Bodegas de Santo Tomás to be a highlight of the trip. Again, I suggest visiting on your own and waiting for any tour groups to clear out so that you can have the best experience possible. Cheers!
