Sunrise Sri Lanka Travels and Tours的点评
点评：This was the 2nd time my family had toured Sri Lanka with Sunrise Sri Lanka Travels and Tours. Both times, we were just a small group, 1st time, we had 4 members, this time, 3.
Our 1st visit in 2016 was so good, we decided to 'replicate' it for our recent trip.
Our family had changed a little, and we wanted to share our amazing memories with them, in person.
We also wanted the chance to revisit a few spots in particular that we tried to get to last time, but the weather meant that we couldn't (Horton Plains National Park).
We got there this time, and were so happy to have experienced it. Horton Plains National Park is so beautiful, and so diverse in its physical characteristics, plants and animals. There were new things to see with almost every step we took.
As with our last tour with Sunrise Sri Lanka Travels and Tours, we had our own private, immaculately clean and comfortable air conditioned van.
And even better than that, we were lucky enough to have the same guide to travel with us this time, Amara, to enhance our understanding of Sri Lanka's history, culture, architecture, geography, plants, and animals (of all sorts).
Amara's keen eye for all things natural meant that we were lucky enough to see new animals every time we went out, and his delight in sharing this was clearly visible (and infectious). He was invaluable on safaris!
We found ourselves really enjoying giving him an update each morning, of which animals we'd seen overnight.
Our driver, Ruwan, was an expert, keeping us safe on the roads regardless of the weather, road and traffic conditions. Some of the roads we traveled on (to a number of experiences) were single lane, winding and with no real passing zones, so the occasional 'car samba' was necessary (and very exciting).
Ruwan was also an excellent guide, drawing our attention to sights of interest, at times when Amara was busy (always to do with the next stage of our trip).
Between them, Amara and Ruwan made sure that we got to the right place, and at the ideal time to get the best out of any experience.
Despite a snap election being called, and shops and businesses closed for 4 days, Amara and Ruwan made sure we'd stocked up on any supplies we'd need, and also that we didn't miss out on being able to engage with the excursions and activities we'd wanted to.
Another member of the Sunrise Sri Lanka Travels and Tours team, Priya, was travelling with a larger group (also Australian), and it was a pleasure to meet up with him and get to know him a little better this time around.
Amara was a skilled advocate and negotiator for us, throughout our trip. All travel comes with the occasional 'hiccup', as did ours, and usually this was around the bedroom arrangements at the hotels.
Amara was always with us for checking in and out of our hotels, and he was consistently professional in resolving any issues that came up, to our absolute satisfaction. Priya (by phone) was a fantastic backup, supporting Amara in finding resolutions to issues, and with every confidence in what bookings and reservations had been made, as he'd been the one to make them.
Amara, Ruwan and Priya were all wonderful to travel and engage with, absolutely genuine in their interest and ability to share their homeland with us, and in their warmth, generosity of spirit, and their senses of humour.
Would we go back for a third visit to Sri Lanka? As long as it's with the special, boutique, Sunrise Sri Lanka Travels and Tours, yes, in a heartbeat!
