点评:Friends of ours recently visited us from Spain. This was their first visit to South Wales, so we wanted to show them as much as possible. During their stay we decided to enjoy a picnic at Lavernock point nature reserve (a coastal walk that links Penarth to Barry Docks).
We parked the car near to Lavernock Point and walked along the path. The walk took several hours with areas of woodland and meadows. Along the way we encountered lots of butterflies and wildflowers. We rested on a bench and enjoyed a picnic, whilst gazing at the amazing sea views. If visiting I would suggest going in a group for safety reasons because the nature reserve was very secluded. The area was seeped in history and refreshments were available at the Marconi Inn. At the Marconi Inn we enjoyed coffee and cake.
In my opinion you need to heed caution when out walking due to the nature of the trails (cliff edges, rocks, mud, unstable ground and so on). As with any walk, before visiting judgment needs to be applied because the trails are not suitable for young children or people with mobility issues
