点评：A great experience all around. Carl (Carlos) picked us (my daughter, hey boyfriend, and myself) up by boat off the beach at Playa Venao. Carl oozed excitement and optimism. Within 15 minutes the rods were in the water and literally 5 minutes later we caught 2 "bonitos" (skipjack tunas)....an excellent start. Another 2 or so nicely sized skipjacks later we saw a pod of dolphins in the distance. These beautiful animals decided to say hello and swam alongside the boat for a few minutes, which was such an unexpected treat. We continued to alternate between two small islands and caught a few more skipjacks, and 2 meaty yellowfin tunas... We then approached the coast to try for some Spanish mackerel... had a biggin' on the hook but lost it while reeling it in.. It mattered not... it was a spectacular morning. Carl's genuine excitement whenever we reeled the fish in was contagious. Notable mentions: Carlos speaks English, is full of energy, has plenty interesting bits of information about the areas and fish, cleaned the yellowfin tunas for us (and this generated an absolutely delicious couple of meals -- we kept 2 of the bonitas which Carlos took.. all other fish we caught were catch and release), the boat is clean and well maintained, plenty of water (and some snacks). I know all too well that there's a bit of luck involved when going fishing, but with Carlos / playa venao fishing luck was on our side!
