Angela Macaluso of Italy By Experts is my go to for exceptional travel planning in Italy. She is knowledgeable and passionate about her homeland while knowing all the right people!
I had this amazing opportunity last October to travel with Angela and I often reflect back on this incredible journey....
Angela taught us that the only way to truly see the Amalfi coast is by a vintage convertible ride. And that every breathtaking view of the Praiano cliff sides is best served with a picnic and an aperol spritz.
Just when we thought the landscape couldn't be better she brought us to the region of Basilicata where we nestled ourselves in the charming village of Matera. There we stayed in rooms that were actually caves! A modern and medieval dream all rolled into one.
Our next visit was in Alberolello which is known for their white washed cone shaped houses called truli homes. We got to visit a very nice couple Maria who opened up their truli home to us for a delicious lunch! Nothing like making you feel at home with a truli home.
All along the way we met the gracious owners of masserias, stunning vistas, unique boutique hotels. The cooking classes were exceptional and educational.
We made tasty pizza and perfect gnocchi in Sorrento. However my favorite class was when we learned how to shape the orviette pasta (the pasta that is shaped like an ear) at a seaside resort on the coast of the Adriatic.
Angela creates a memorable journey of a lifetime. Every detail is carefully curated, every experience is a delight! I would do this trip with her over and over again if I could!
