Beautiful Day Parasailing at Disney’s Castaway Cay, & Enjoying the Adult Beach! Both were great fun!

点评：The island was absolutely beautiful, spent much of the day at the adults only beach since this was a Disney Cruise Adult Trip on Disney Wish. A small group of us from high school who have remained lifelong friends, annually embark on a weekend getaway adventure, and this year we chose a Disney Cruise on the Wish from Port Canaveral, and a true first class experience it was in every way. Even as adults we found ourselves able to experience and feel the magic Disney provides both on land and at Sea. While the ship was beautiful this review is of our time spent at Castaway Cay one of Disneys private islands in the Bahamas, and it was absolutely beautiful. The island was beautifully manicured, not overcrowded as we were the only ship visiting, and I believe only one ship visits at a time so this really allows for it to feel like your own private paradise, and have plenty of space, and options to have a fun and exciting day. We spent out day at the adults only beach, and while quite a trek to get there the tram ride made it easy, however, two trams are required to get to there, as you had to get off at stop two, and then board another tram to go to the adult beach. While, this can provide for a small delay it was not bad and the wait was not long at all. The adult beach has plenty of chairs and umbrellas, with food and beverage service with in close distance. While the food was offered buffet style it was really good served fresh, and hot, also the steak was offered to be cooked to your preferred temperature and this was nice as some like it rare and others well done, this also ensures for you to know your meal will be served hot, and not just sitting around while you file through the line. Several BBQ offerings were available including steak, chicken, hamburgers and Hotdogs and I believe ribs too. They provide a wide array of sides including fresh cold salads, and warm dishes like potato’s, and cornbread. For desert you can find ice cream, and cookies and brownies, which is nice to be able to grab and enjoy later while you relax at the beach, I hear that the adult only BBQ Resturant, located adjacent to the adult beach area does offer better options that you can’t find at the other dining venues offered elsewhere on the island, however I can’t confirm this, but that’s what many others mentioned while waiting in line who came there to eat while their kids were busy enjoying the kids club that’s offered on the island. Again, not sure of those details, but thought that was a nice offering, that Disney provided such a service where you could check your kids into the fully staffed kids club on the island, and then have some time to enjoy the adult only amenities for a while with your other family or significant other while the kids entertained and kept busy with activities at the kids club, but we did not utilize these services while visiting, only simply heard from others they this is what they did, allowing for them to experience the island both with kids in the kids centered areas, as well as have some time to spend in the adult area, and experience that as well. We also went on the parasailing excursion while visiting, and this to me was so much fun and well with it. They allow for two to go at a time, as long as both in your party, are within the weight limits, and both my friend and I are 6ft 200lbs each and both went up together no issues at all, while I was a bit fearful, the parasail and harness etc handled us lime feathers with no problem and the view of the island and ship and water was absolutely stunning and picturesque, highly recommend taking your go pro to capture some beautiful footage, and pictures while up there, also you can leave one of your phones or cameras behind for the boat captain or staff to take your picture while going up and coming down which was nice, as they don’t offer like paid photography like you see Everywhere else on the ship for those who purchase picture packages etc. However, most of all the parasail excursion was provided on a beautiful and modern boat, life jackets and safety held at highest regard, and the parasail is in perfect condition, as well as the pulleys and harnesses etc they you will be connected to during the experience, therefore there is no reason that one should feel unsafe, or that safety was not a top priority at all time during the parasailing excursion, moreover they really do go out of their way to sure you have a pleasurable and memorable experience. I highly recommend the parasailing if you have maybe always dreamed of giving it a try, or even if you have gone several other times, you will still really enjoy it, and the view and memories made. One other tip, our parasailing was scheduled for 11am, and we got off ship at 930, ventured to adult beach with our other friends traveling with us, as we assumed we had plenty of time, however that was not the case as with the two tram rides etc, by the time we arrived to the beach all the way at other side of island it was time for us to simply turn around and head back, for our 11am excursion, therefore if doing it again I would recommend, spending time around the ship area and maybe the first tram stop, for a bit so you don’t feel rushed like in our case or nervous we would be late or miss it etc. then after the parasailing we could have then taken the tram to catch up with our friends at the adult beach. While we made the excursion we were not as early as we would have liked usually allowing for 10-15min buffer of time before scheduled excursion, as the trip to and from adult beach on tram from the ship is easily a 40-60 min process if you want to do it at a leisurely pace and not feel rushed, at least that was our thought on time management if we were doing it again. Overall beautiful island, lots to do and plenty of activities, and shopping and dining options or all to enjoy. Also, one other thing if you usually travel with a small blow up, compact mesh/ bolster raft like us, when we cruise royal, that we often enjoy using at coco cay, or other ports of call where we know we plan on spending the day at the beach, you will not have this option on Disney as they do not allow for you to bring any type of raft of your own such as the one described above as they prefer you rent theirs, for a fee and this can be arranged on the app. While they are offered I believe for 20 dollars or so and this is probably a fair, and reasonable,price point, it still would have been nice to have the option to bring your own which, we honestly inflate on a minute or two right when we get to the beach and deflate before getting back on board so there is no issue or inconvenience caused to others, however I do believe this is what they are aiming to avoid as I could see it being an issue if everyone was carrying around their rafts already inflated before hand, while not considering others around them and taking up useful space in the team etc…. So while it was a bummer not to be able to do what we usually do when cruising and traveling with our compact Amazon rafts and saving a couple dollars, you still at least have an option to rent a one if you prefer, then pickup, enjoy, and easily return it at the beach hut before you leave for the day and go back to the ship.
