点评：Ideally we would rate this 3.5 if possible, we did have a good time here overall but there are a few things we would like to point out.
Pros:
- rooftop pool was lovely, clean & heated to perfect temperature.
- breakfast was delicious
- reception staff were helpful & friendly
- central location for the Peak District with many local walking routes
- the interior of the hotel was lovely with a gorgeous valentines display
Cons:
- the first room we were assigned was filthy, shower did not look clean, some kind of mucus left in the sink and curly black hairs in the bed, and a ripped pillow case. The flip flops in this room for the spa were also not new and had definitely been used before. It was also a tiny room but bearable for one night.
- the main spa area looked worse for wear (to put it nicely), one pool smelt like a public bathroom and another looked like it had something growing in it. We didn’t use any of these facilities as they simply looked like they needed a good scrub. Can’t speak for the saunas as they were too busy to enter.
After we complained to the front desk about the cleanliness of our original room they were swift in assigning us a new room, which we think may have been an upgrade and this room was much cleaner (apart from one large dead fly stuck to the blind but we just ignored this) and much more spacious. It also had a gorgeous free standing bath. Most of the staff were understanding and very helpful except one staff member who clearly had a bee in his bonnet with us after we complained about the room.
Overall, this hotel was a nice stay for one night but I wouldn’t be rushing back.
