点评:There aren't "too many" man made attractions on San Salvador but this lighthouse certainly is one of them. It's, to me at least, not the usual location as normally I see them closer to the shoreline whereas here it's on top of the hill/one of the highest points on the island allowing further a 360 view once at the top - it's free, easy drive on the main road located in the north east of the island - if you rent a car for a day or two, definitely worth the visit.
The history behind this and the other Bahamian lighthouses was particularly interesting to me, you can read about inside the lighthouse or on one of the attached pictures, if you interested as well. By now, it's one of the last if not the last manually operated one in the Bahamas.
TIP: there are 3 set of stairs, the first 2 are simply narrow and unless you have a fear of heights (which I do, and struggled with it) you will be fine. The third and last set of stairs/steps is almost vertical type of ladder so it definitely is not for all shapes and sizes - my wife ended up going all the way up and shared some pictures/videos with me - pretty cool place!
