点评:Earlier in out trip we had been to carlsbad cavern. This was totally different and a great experience. We had an hour before our tour so we watched an excellent movie in a theatre separate from the reception center telling us the history of the discovery and all the on going discovery in what is believed to be the 5 th largest cave system in the world, this was very interesting. The reception center has really good exhibits for those not going underground. Our tour was just over 90 mins. An elevator down. Then a long up and down walk over numerous walkways and 734 stairs. This is a dry cave so not stalactites like Carlsbad but numerous diff formations at very close range. They have a 20 foot cave bacon lit from behind, because of the iron oxide it is striped just like bacon. I think they should see if they can get it in the guiness book of records. Our guide led us at a slow steady pace so you did not feel rushed and there are plenty of stops on the way with seats. There are handrails on both sides so at 81 I felt quite safe highly recomended.
