点评:A great place to learn about the early history of Zimbabwe. We paid $5/ person and an additional $2/ person for the guide. The guides make sure to let you know that they will be expecting a huge tip. I would highly recommend you pay for the guide as they have the history that makes the tour memorable. Try to work out a few weeks before as the whole tour will take a good 2-3 hours. We went up the hill where the king and his advisors stayed. It was a good 460 meters up. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us some interesting stories. You also get to visit the village which is a depiction of how the people lived back then. We also went to the ruins where the Queen and the children stayed. This was the highlight as it had all the structures that we usually see on so many adverts and symbols. We also got the Great Zimbabwe sculptures for very reasonable prices (US$12 - US$50 depending on the piece). They also have miniature items such as key holders and bottle openers for as low as US$2. The is also the museum where you get to see the Zimbabwe birds up close. Unfortunately you cannot take pictures in the museum for security reasons. You also have to be wary of baboons and monkeys. It was overall an enjoyable experience.
