Being a part of history - but two 'Xs' on the road...

点评：It may be a little goulish but it is still fascinating to walk the streets here and be a part of one of the most famous days in history. You can walk the way the motorcade came and compare your modern photos with stills and pictures from the moment in 1963. And, yes, you can wait for a gap in the traffic and go stand in the road at the exact spot the car was when the shot hit, for they have painted the tarmac with an X for you.
However...
...there are 2 X's for when the first bullet hit and then for when the fatal bullet struck. I realised I had a photo at the wrong one and had to move down the road a bit to then get the more meaningful symbol of the final shot.
You also, of course, need to get yourself onto that grassy knoll and you can't help but look back to the 6th Floor window and how far away it is...
It's actually a shame the area has become synonymous with such a tragic event as the Book Depository is a fine looking building, as are many of the old courthouses around and about, so would ordinarily be a beautiful tourist spot.
However...
