点评:The macaws are amazing, but be aware of the loges/Collpa your company booked for you.
We were settled in a “LODGE INN/Collpa inn” , we were prepared for the challenging conditions—no air conditioning was fine, and we understood the limitations on electricity. However, what we didn’t expect was the complete lack of fans, not even a simple paper fan. The entire hotel felt like a sauna.
What really crossed the line, though, was the expectation that all guests heading to the airport or bus station carry their own luggage, without any assistance. This included dragging heavy bags up and down steep cliffs and staircases by the river (from the dock to the hotel and back), which was exhausting. In fact, the physical effort required was even tougher than the Inca trek (which we’ve done, and this was harder). It was so bad that we hurt our backs.
The frustrating part is that we could have easily left our bags at the hotel or a travel office in the city, sparing ourselves the trouble. But instead, they made us haul everything back, just to save a few minutes and a little fuel on the way to the airport. It felt like an unnecessary burden and quite frankly, an insult to the guests.
This wasn’t just a logistical failure—it was downright disrespectful to the guests.
