Tons of fun on a quiet electric Narrowboat

点评：We booked with Castle Narrowboats specifically because they had electric boats. I was a little concerned about running down the batteries but the lowest they were got was still over 60%. Such a wonderful trip! Early in April not all of the trees were filled out, which made for great views. Everything we could possibly need on the boat and we used it all: fridge, microwave, broiler, oven, stovetop, kettle. Travel was slow enough that we could hop off the boat and go for a brisk walk along the tow path to be picked up later on when the boat caught up. We would definitely recommend heading northwest from the boat pick-up point; that's where all the locks, lifting bridges and the tunnel are. Heading southeast, it's much more built-up, some road noise, lots of privately-owned narrowboats parked along the sides. We were happy to have younger legs to help with the locks, etc. but really we could have managed it all on our own. The scenery was fantastic. Lots of small communities so we could always stock up on groceries (and cider! So much local cider and so good!) Highly recommend the trip and Castle Narrowboats.
