点评：What can we say – 4th trip with Mountain Bike Kerala and an absolute banger!!
On Mountain Bike Kerala’s website it states they aim to ‘offer the best riding in India and provide the full Indian off the bike experience’. Quite simply, Mike and the team delivered above and beyond and we had another fabulous trip with so many memories to treasure. Excellent riding, gob-smacking scenery, delicious food, great company and the best experience combining India and mountain biking!
The logistics are incredible and went like clockwork; some feat when you consider booking the nights in the trekking huts relies on messages being delivered in person by someone trekking up to the huts as there is no phone signal!
Our bike guides were the trusty Deepak and Pankaj; Deepak is a top rider and excellent bike guide – great lines accompanied by various entertaining commentary - and what this man can’t arrange isn’t worth talking about. Off the bike he’s excellent company, enjoying the games we take along and keeping us on our toes. Pankaj, also an excellent rider, loves to giggle, is always turned out well on the bike, can eat an incredible amount of dhal and rice – he hates waste – and has excellent mountaineering knowledge. The bonus on this trip was getting to visit the places that Deepak and Pankaj come from and meeting their family.
The trip required porters to get our luggage and bikes to the highest point and negotiating a few tricky sections of washed out trail; at each section the porters were there to help us up and down; they were rock solid and inspired great confidence. Also our vehicle and driver were wonderful and did a superb job looking after us, our bikes and luggage.
The accommodation and food was second to none as always and we all found a new favourite eating place in Sameshwar; I’d recommend the trip for this place alone!
Mike never ceases to amaze us with his knowledge of the riding in India and his ability to put together the best experience you could possibly have. Nothing is too much trouble; he’s always calm, has a great sense of humour and can adapt on the spot if a change of plan is required. We’re just trying to work out what trip we can do next with him……….
