点评:Though not much here to see just a bridge, it is in fact the history of this bridge that makes it the attraction. The Old Bridge is Pontypridd's oldest landmark. Was build by William Edwards in 1756 after 3 failed attempts, and is now listed as an Grade 1 listed monument.
Originally built solid, this is why the bridge failed on its attempts, though by making the bridge with the 3 sets of holes on each side, it did make the bridge lighter and apparently stronger.
On the left side of the bridge opposite the Malsters arms pub, beneath the level of the road used to be a gents urinal you could walk down to, though this was removed in the bridges later life. Another unique thing was the way the curved blocks came together to form arches and was perfected on its final attempt. If you come to Pontypridd, that is a place you arenot going to miss.
