点评:My friend and I wanted to visit the Fukushima site while visiting Japan. After considerable research, we found Real-Fukushima, which provides a tour of the nuclear site, not just the evacuated area. We were fortunate that the once per month tour fit into our travel agenda. The tour was everything we wanted - it was so interesting that twice as long would have been great!
Karin provided very good communication before the tour, including where to meet, what to wear and what to expect. Karin also recommended that we watch NETFLIX’s drama serious “The Days" prior to the tour and that was a worthwhile activity to give us background on the event.
The tour was very well organized, with plant personnel providing information to us. We were able to see the outside of the damaged reactors and learn the status of what has been done for recovery and what still needs to be done.
We also toured part of the previously evacuated area, which was very interesting. We had lunch in a very good cafeteria in the area, which featured a market with locally produced and grown goods. The strawberries grown in the Fukushima area were the best I have ever eaten!
