点评:The Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA) can be found in the Casa de Emperador building: it is the first contemporary and modern art museum in Visayas and showcases the multi-medium artworks of local and international artists (including six prints from Salvador Dalí). It's part of the much larger Megaworld Business Park and was constructed in partnership with Ilonggo art collector Edwin Valencia (and for whom the 3rd floor gallery is named after).
There is a rotating series of exhibitions, and so the pictures I've attached to my review may not be representative of your own experience. During our February 2025 family trip, the ground floor gallery was occupied by various culinary-inspired works of the Timplada exhibition. The second floor contains a number of works from international artists, most notably six pieces from Salvador Dali (including Il Paradiso Perduto, 1974).
The third floor houses the Adoracion V. Valencia Gallery, which is a small repository the personal collection of ILOMOCA's founding patron, Edwin Valencia (and is named in honor of Valencia's mother).
The museum is a comfortable space, and it will probably take you about an hour to view the various collections. There is also a museum shop on the premises, although it was closed at the time of our visitation. Admission fees were P150 for adults (approximately $2.50 at the time of our visit).
There's also a Brandy Museum next door, but my wife claimed I would be too busy with other activities to explore this spirited exhibit, and instructed me to stop my "whining". Sorry, had to get a pun in there. 😉
