Lovely Gardens But No Other Visitors
轮王寺的点评
点评：If you want to experience a stunning garden then visit Rinnoji Temple. We were the only visitors that Tuesday morning. It was a little bit of a hike from the metro station so I highly recommend taking the bus from JR Sendai Station since it stops right in front.
The path to the temple from the bus stop was under a convoy of trees and lined with many statues of deities. When standing in front of the temple then head to the right side where it will take you to the entry gate to the garden.
The admission fee was only 300 yen and we just deposited the coins in the turnstile to gain entry. The temple even has a change machine if you only have larger coins or bills.
Inside there were many paths that would through the garden and around the pond. It was truly a peaceful and zen experience in the solitude and beauty of the surroundings.
The pagoda and temple were a reconstruction since most of the temple was destroyed in the firebombing of WWII.
A must see if you can fit it into your Sendai visit.
