点评:A visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is arduous but the experience of witnessing the Mangal Aarti and then do Sparsh Darshan, is divine and makes the effort worth it!
For assured entry, tickets are made available online a month in advance and sold out fast. Mangal Aarti is conducted at 3 am. , which meant that we were required near the temple entrance by 2 am. But locating this place was difficult because there were no temple representatives at that time, only cops - who were equally confusing as us. Some directed to one area while few others to another area. The confusion was compounded by the fact that there were crowds assembled in queues, difficult to distinguish who were with tickets and who were not.
Nearer the time, the responsible cops arrived and directed the ticket holders into forming another queue, separated from the normal entry (without tickets) queues.
We entered the Temple premises and made our way to the spot in front of the Lingam of Lord Shiva (Vishwanath) housed in the sanctum sanctorum. It was very crowded. We had to jostle and crane our necks to view the rituals taking place inside. There was a giant TV screens to project the Mangal Aarti proceedings.
After the scheduled Mangal Aarti ceremony, the devotees were permitted to enter the sanctum sanctorum and pour their offerings to the Lord - do Sparsh Darshan.
This was the bonus that made all the hard work worthwhile - doing Sparsh Darshan!

Sparsh Darshan!
