点评:This seems to be the main tourist observation spot that many tourists visit based on the number of tourists getting on and off at this bus stop. It’s also only a 30-minute drive or bus ride away from the ferry terminal. There is ample free parking (layered) although the lookout point is quite small and built on two floors with shelter provided inside the round observation building.
There is not much to see inside, there are a couple of very dated information signs (Japanese and English) but give little information. I visited here first before visiting the Sakurajima visitor centre, so you might take more away visiting there first but it’s not a requirement. Likewise, there is a small shop too, but doesn't sell anything unique besides the usual water, small food items and souvenirs. Naturally many people marvel upwards at the volcano as this is as near as close the general public can get to the summit. It is quite pretty with the vegetation in the foreground which becomes more desolate towards to the summit. Likewise, you can also see out towards the city in the distance in the other direction.
The bus is timed perfectly coming every 30 minutes so many people that get off here board the next bus back. It can be very busy so line up in the queue first to ensure you can board the bus.
