点评:Maruyama Park is a park in Chūō-ku of Sapporo. The park was modeled after the same namesake as that in Kyoto. We alighted at Mauroyama Koen sta on Tozai Line..
Just a short 5 mins walk and we reached here, light drizzle in mid-autumn. The park is home to a few attractions such as the Hokkaidō Shrine, the Maruyama Zoo and the Maruyama Baseball Stadium.
Near the entrance there is a small office and the interesting short tower clock that show the temperature ; 8 deg. We walked towards the direction of 北海道神宮
Vast greeneries and many stopped to admire the surrounding. Probably there are varieties of Magnolia, Maple trees in this designated natural monument. On the hillside of the park, there are giant Elm and Cypress trees where different bird species gather. With over 1,500 sakura trees the park is the most popular hanami place in the city of Sapporo.
The Hokkaidō Shrine located at the north end of the park, opened on 1869, is the most important Shinto shrine of the City
