点评：Thanks for my guide Eloy to make impossible possible. To climb the Huayna Potosi at 6.088m for my 64 birthday. I had just one day initiation with ice climbing and crampons. No prior high mountain experience. Never been in a refuge. No specific equipment. Plus I was pressed by the time due to my fly return so could not do the 3D/2N recommended and had to cram it in 2D/1N. All this looks like the perfect recipe for disaster. But never-less I decided to try it because Eloy told me that I could do it and I trusted him. Although he clearly explained to me the schedule I did not completely realized for what I was signing for!!! 😀. Eloy really wanted me to reach the summit for my birthday, he had been extremely patient and encouraging, I know that there is a time limit too, when the sun set then ice gets more fragile and crampons get less efficient which melting snow. So we were the last to arrive but still safely. On our way to the top we crossed a few that were clearly more experienced and fit but turned around before the summit. So mental, courage and determination is a strong factor. The other important factor is your guide, he will keep you safe, step by step will tell you what to do or not to do and why.
