So much potential, but a great disappointment.

点评：The whole experience was a disappointment.
It was all very amateur. There were signs everywhere saying "this way" and one way only" but they led to a dead end and the only way out was to retrace your steps. Lots of maps and guides but for another site (national coal mining museum 50 miles away).
There were no guides and very few notices.
The shop was just a storage area the only things offered for sale were cigarette pack sized bags of coal and plates for various pits. I wanted to get a plate for my Dad's pit but they were all in mixed piles and had to be checked individually. Even if I'd found one there were no prices and no one to handle the sale.
Finally the cafe had been making emitting the delicious aroma of bacon butties aall day. I queued for 30 minutes (one woman taking orders from two serving hatches. She also made the drinks, served cold food and took the payments. When I finally got served the had sold out of bacon.
I know the staff are volunteers, but someone needs to give the place a good shake up. It has potential to be so much better.
