Museum of the Moving Image的点评
点评：This is what happens when the 1% stockholders decide to re-vamp their asset (Museum of Moving Image.) They shrink the gift shop from Books about filmmakers to toys and dolls. They paint the lobby all white leaving you feeling like you're inside a milk carton (even the outdoor "park" outside through the glass isn't grassy???
When we went it must have been baby-sitting stroller day for all the bored couples and nanny's with kids hanging out at the cafe serving $8 cookie. It's not the price I balk at - it's the LACK OF AMBIANCE and ATMOSPHERE and MOOD ... this is a museum about the MOVIESSSS, right?
The exhibit we saw was the Skateboard - basically travel back to 1995 cassette VHS tape with yes - more white walls (LIGHTING helloooo - put two LED's in the corner and make it 80's retro.... which is a shame because
I SAW THE MOST AMAZING EXHIBIT HERE - the MUSIC VIDEO EXHIBIT - too bad that was before the 1% stockholders took over and decide to turn this Museum into a Rental Event Space. I do like their Main Theater - it's seating and interior design is excellent for both screening and Q&A's but once gain ... ... this is a museum about the MOVIESSSS, right? Not toys, dolls and key chain merchandise.
