EHRA - Elephant Human Relations Aid的点评
点评：EHRA's volunteer program is the best experience I've had in my life (I'm only 20 but still). I spent 6 weeks building walls, tracking Elephants, meeting the community, learning about Namibian flora and fauna and sleeping under the stars. The Staff is amazing. They know so much and love to answer every question you have. They all have a place in my heart. Especially Andreas en Herman. Andreas will always keep the vibes up and built a strong bond in the group. Herman knows so much about the Elephants and actually all the other Namibian nature. He likes to share that knowledge with you. As I did this 2-week program 3 times, I had 3 different groups of people. With the first group we were with 5 volunteers and with the other 2 we were with 15. All very mixed ages (18-70) and nationalities. Both I enjoyed very much! It's nice to meet so many people who are like-minded and funny how a stranger can become a very good friend of yours in 2 weeks.
Working under the African sun can be intense and the work is physical but no one will ask you to do something If you can't or don't. Every help is welcome even if it's small.
The program is very well organized. The staff will give you all the information you need at the time and tell you what to do. Every day you'll also have time to rest or maybe go for a little walk if you want. Near base camp you can climb one of the peaks and have a 360º view at the Namibian Desert. Believe me, it's worth it!
Working on the walls in sweat with each other, eating amazing food from the campfire, sleeping under the stars, seeing the elephants. It's magical and something you'll never forget and every time you think of it, a smile appears on your face.
After 6 weeks I had to go back home but I didn't say good-bye, I said see you, because I know I'll come back to this wonderful place with wonderful people.
