点评：Our friends introduced us to this ramen alley when we visited Kyoto in 2018 and we were very happy to return in 2024. The street has multiple ramen stalls that offer ramen specialties from all over Japan including some that have won awards. We tried Menya Iroha when we went this time but there are many tempting options.
There are queues to line up at each ramen shop and a vending machine to get your ticket to go in. The vending machines have Japanese and English options and most shops have 2-3 popular ramens to choose from.
The ramen koji area is on the 10th floor of the Kyoto Train Station and can be accessed via the Grand Staircase or escalator systems. Nearby is the Skyway which gives some cool views of the station as well. It is worth planning a lunch or dinner here if you're in the Kyoto Train Station area or planning to get here before or staying after your train arrives. Service is typically very quick here so you can plan to be here for a quick meal but do plan time to walk around to pick what ramen you want to try.
