点评:This striking stone viaduct crossing the Keil Burn is very much a dominating feature of Lower Largo, and what gives the town it’s character. The now disused East of Fife single track railway bridge is 53ft high, 264ft long , and constructed of 4 segmented supporting masonry arches. It was built in 1856/7 , and contributed greatly to tourism back in the day, as people were drawn by the lovely coastal vistas - and chugging over the bridge was an added attraction. Sadly , the last train went over it in 1966, and it’s really now a historical relic. There’s no access to it unfortunately, and although there were apparently plans to convert it into part of the coastal walkway , I can only imagine it would cost considerably to fit in with present health and safety directives.
