A superb, must-visit attraction in Fife for whiskey and history lovers alike!

点评：We booked in for the standard tour, which lasted about an hour and a quarter and provided a comprehensive tour of the entire distillery, as well as a commentated tasting at the end (yum!!).
Our tour guide, David, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and gave a fantastic overview, not only of the whiskey making process at Lindores, but also the history of the site. This aspect was really fascinating and one of the most memorable parts of the tour.
The site itself is beautiful, with the immaculately presented distillery located on the site of the old Lindores Abbey and large portions of the Abbey ruins still visible next to the distillery. It's clear Lindores have worked to keep the distillery a smaller, independent operation which adds to the charm of both the distillery itself and the whiskey, and is a breath of fresh air when compared to the larger distilleries owned by the Diageo behemoth.
I'm a regular whiskey drinker and the Lindores whiskies are up there with the very best I've tasted. They are definitely in my top 5 favourite whiskies of all time!
If you're considering visiting the distillery, I would HIGHLY recommend the excellent tours, which is worth it for tasting alone, let alone the additional enjoyment from hearing about the history of the site and getting to see behind the scenes.
It's easy to see why this establishment has received a 5* rating for Scotland's tourist board. Definitely add this to your must-see list if you have an interest in either/or both history and whiskey and are looking for an excellent value-for-money and unique experience in Fife.
