Portarlington Pier的点评
点评：Portarlington Pier enables visitors to take a leisurely walk, whilst anglers can fish from the pier all taking in the sweeping views of Corio Bay.
Port Phillip Ferries operate daily services from Portarlington to Docklands in Melbourne... it enables anyone for about $20 to visit this historic town from the city.
I walked along the pier on a sun-drenched day watching delighted visitors leaving the ferry. There was much laughter and a whole lot of different languages bantering backwards and forwards. The mix of multiculturalism in Australia is something special. I noted that the crowd was older, but that may have been because it was a week day.
As I walked along the pier locals said a friendly hello and fishermen/women shared their stories of the lack of fish that wanted to join their buckets. :)
It's a very vibrant place to visit and well worth taking a walk along - the water under the pier is clear and you can see the sandy seabed through the dancing, waving sea water.
From the pier it's an easy walk up a slope into town.
