点评：I had a beautiful day exploring Kuks and its surroundings. I say “surroundings” because from Kuks, you can hike to Braun’s Nativity Scene—a remarkable rock carving set in the woods, about 3.5 km away. Alternatively, you can drive and park near the village of Žireč, which is closer to the site.
The Baroque monastery, along with the former hospital and spa, is absolutely breathtaking. The basic tour circuit costs 200 CZK (tickets can also be purchased online) and includes entry to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Learning about the site's fascinating history and development, visit the hospital ward, and walk through a stunning corridor featuring paintings of the Grim Reaper dancing—a truly unique sight. The tour also includes the Baroque apothecary and the tour finishes in the lapidarium, where you'll find the original stone sculptures of the Virtues and Vices.
Additional tours are also available. Don’t miss the herb garden in the beautifully maintained park.
From the hospital grounds, you’ll enjoy an amazing view of the former spa, the museum, and the cascading staircase that leads down the slope.
Paid parking (60 CZK for a full day) is located about a 10-minute walk from the hospital.
