Christmas Break on Drake
Beacon Park Boats的点评
点评：We have just returned from a Christmas Break, staying on Drake at Beacon Park Boat's, with our two dogs. We did 5 nights (arriving 22/12 and departing 27/12).
Booking wise we did this via Air BnB which was brilliant, and the host communications - absolutely fabulous!! The directions, check in instructions as well as the welcome messages were all first class - please do take up the recommendations on local places.
The boat itself was immaculate, all presented ready for check in, and literally had everything you needed (wood burner, fully stocked kitchen etc.) and if you need more things e.g. briquettes, towels, kitchen/toilet roll - all easily accessible. They tell you upfront re. TV and WiFi but bring plenty of DVDs and you'll be fine (They have a stock too!).
The closest pub/food is the Horseshoe Inn which is only 15 mins walk - and that is great. Crichowell at that time of year was better as a drive - but there is a car park over there (Beaufort - card machine doesn't work so you need cash/change), and lots of great pubs/food/shops to access.
The walks locally are wonderful, very scenic and peaceful, would very much love to come back to the area - maybe in the spring/summer and take a boat out on the canal!!!.
