Deep Knowledge of Priorat for Everyone (especlally wine geeks)

点评：How do you choose a tour operator for a wine region, especially one with
such history as Priorat? When I looked at options, the deciding factor
for me to go with Travel Priorat was that it is
led by professionals who have the WSET (Wine and Spirits Education
Trust) Level 3 certification. I really wanted to deeply understand this region,
its terroir, and its wines, and Travel Priorat exceeded my expectations. From
early emails with Ania about possible itineraries to working with
Blanca to finalize our day, communication was clear and quick - not always
easy to do when trying to arrange a trip from across the Atlantic!
Blanca’s recommendation of wineries covered much of the history of
Priorat: a family run winery that has been making wines for five generations,
a winery whose family had roots the area and returned to recover the
vineyards in the late 1990s, and another, one of the “Big Five,” that uses
international varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah) in their wines,
and who keeps the blends the same every year! And the lunch at Atavus,
with their own wines and a stunning view was wonderful.
Finally, we were staying in Barcelona, and had only one day for the tour.
Blanca provided details on which trains to take for the round
trip, met us at the station, and got us back to the train station for the trip back with time to spare.
If you are studying for any professional wine certification, Travel Priorat is your choice. If you're not, they are still your choice because of the enthusiasm Ania and Blanca have for this region, its wines, and its history.
My only regret is not spending more time in the region to experience more
of what Ania, Blanca, and Travel Priorat has to offer!
