点评:WOW! WOW! WOW! My husband found Vina San Pedro through Conde Nast Traveler and thought it would be a nice diversion on the road from Santa Cruz to Santiago. BEST DIVERSION EVER! On the approach to Vina San Pedro, you traverse through a small farming town at the base of the Andes. You need a reservation ~ made at least 3 days in advance - to gain admission to the vineyard. Plan for an even greater lead time during high season since the number of guests daily is capped. There is a checkpoint verifying reservations before admission is granted. Upon passing through the checkpoint, we were awestruck by the vistas and scenery on a gorgeous fall day. The winery / hospitality center is thoughtfully designed to blend into the environment in an unobtrusive way. Slightly down the hill, the open air restaurant Bodega Chachapoal Andes invites guests to savor the flavors and setting as if in a friend's beautiful home. Francisca, the Hospitality Manager, was an absolutely lovely host and sommelier for our visit. Her demeanor and company were delightful and gracious. We learned what distinguishes San Pedro's icon wines as the second largest wine producer in Chile and were treated to a tasting that was thoughtful and enjoyable. Our lunch experience at the Bodega was one of the finest we have experienced anywhere in the world. The portion sizes were beautiful. The ingredients fresh, exquisite, and innovative without being overly complicated in their combinations. And, the pairings with the San Pedro wines impeccable. We felt like royalty in the way were were treated and would go out of our way to experience Vina San Pedro / Bodega Cacapoal Andes again. It was hard to leave because the setting was so casual, comfortable, peaceful, and welcoming.
