Little gem, even if slightly neglected
U.S. National Arboretum的点评
点评:I was a little nervous to take my 82 yo mom here after reading the reviews - I got the impression that it would be hard to navigate, and not much to see. Those warnings helped prepare us for the best way to enjoy the garden, and we ended up having a magical morning there! It was a beautiful cool day. We drove around the park, stopping in parking lots or on the side of the road along the way whenever we saw something we wanted to see. We loved everywhere we stopped - the azalea gardens, the columns, and the amazing bonsai gardens (which I loved even though I wasn't previously into bonsai). Some areas need a little love, like the herb garden and visitor center, but that in no way took away from the beauty and peace of the Arboretum. We definitely recommend it! I hope someday someone (maybe a college student or class?) takes the Arboretum on as a fundraising project and advertises it more :)
