点评：It's not everyday you get the opportunity to open up a new destination with a tour operator as experienced in unusual destinations as Koryo Tours. Our group was blessed to be so lucky, and we got the trip of lifetime in return.
If you've ever considered visiting Afghanistan, this is the way you'll want to experience it. It is not a trip for everyone, nor does it pretend to be: you'll be trading comfort for a raw authenticity you'll seldom find in any other travel destinations.
Our British guide was this rare combination of smart, pleasant and hardworking - ensuring the experience was fun and engaging even when we had to make challenging adjustments to our itinerary. Zoe Stephens knows what she's doing, and she does it well.
Our Afghan guide and fixer was incredibly resourceful and well-networked. He was an incredible source of local knowledge and facilitator. You'll want someone like Masood Schnizai on the ground.
In conclusion: in the course of your research on Afghanistan, you may find other, cheaper tour alternatives. My honest advice is that you'll have a better, safer experience not trying to nickel and dime your way through Afghanistan. This isn't the trip to cut corners.
What it can be however, is a fantastic unique experience, provided you understand what you're buying: you're paying for smart and resourceful people who know what they're doing, and who have been doing their due diligence and researching this destination to make sure your trip is enjoyable.
