点评：We came across lots of reviews for Tony's Tours when planning our holiday to Sri Lanka. There were lots of positive reviews about the tours offered and the service of the guides / drivers. As first time visitors we wanted to make the most of our holiday and see lots of things.
We contacted Tony via e-mail and asked for a list of tours with prices that were offered. A prompt response was received which gave a full breakdown of the tours offered, the pick up time and what was included. Prices were in pounds for our party of two.
We booked the Galle day trip, Udawalawa & Ella 2 Day Tour and a visit to the Kandeviharaya Temple.
Confirmation of the tours and the days we wanted to go was provided. We were asked to pay no money up front. Payment was made in sterling upon completion of the tours.
Upon arrival in resort we made contact again to advise we had arrived and re-confirmed the pick up time for our first tour.
We were met in the hotel reception by Thakshila who was our guide for the Galle trip and the two day tour. On each occasion we had a private tour undertaken in a clean, air conditioned car. The drivers were great. Thakshila was fantastic. He imparted his knowledge to us and took the time to show us many things during our tours. He took us to some lovely restaurants for our meals and made sure that we were happy with everything. He was very caring and really looked after us making sure that we didn't miss any photo opportunities. He answered our questions and generally couldn't do enough to make sure we were having a great time and enjoying the hospitality of Sri Lanka.
We thoroughly enjoyed the highlights of our trips which included a visit to a turtle hatchery, nine arch bridge, scenic train ride, waterfalls, tea plantations, elephant orphanage, the location of the Good Karma Hospital, the stilt fisherman, Galle Fort, Tsunami Memorial Statue, a river safari, a jeep safari in a national park. Whilst staying overnight in Ella we upgraded to the Hotel OnRock which was a small boutique hotel with great views.
When we went to the Kandeviharaya Temple our guide was Big Tony. Tony brought flowers for us to give to the Buddah and gave us a very interesting tour at the temple. Afterwards we called in Benota and went souvenir shopping for gifts and spices.
We are more than happy to recommend to other travellers the services of Tony, Thakshila and their drivers. We felt that the tours offered good value for money and were cheaper than using Tui. Also the tours offered some little extras not included in Tui's tours which was a bonus.
Everything quoted within the original e-mail received was included (including toll charges, entrance fees etc). We only paid for meals and tips.
We booked our tours well in advance of our arrival in resort in order to secure the dates that we wanted. Talking with Thakshila this enabled him to easily secure our hotel booking and train tickets. Ella is really busy so hotels and the train get booked up fast.
We will return to Sri Lanka again as there are still a number of things we want to see. We would have no hesitation in booking further trips via Tony's Tours and are happy to recommend them to provide a bespoke service. Nothing is too much trouble and they work with you to deliver exactly what you want from a tour.
