Great snow, but not so the infrastructure.

点评：We skied the area as two couples. The weather provided plenty of fresh snow during the week so the powder hounds were blessed with great conditions.
Being piste skiers there were times when there was too much snow on the slopes, the snow having fallen after the piste bashers had worked the night before.
It was our first visit to Verbier. We knew prices would be on the high side but they were significantly higher than expected. The area was tricky to navigate due to the lack of signage. Too many of the lifts were old and slow and the number of drag lifts well in excess of other cheaper resorts we've visited. The lift system opened at 8.45am which seemed late, and the upper lifts started to shut down at 3.30pm. There was a tendency for operators of the gondolas to pack people into the cabins to a very unpleasant level. They needed to run more frequently. On a few days not all areas were open thus limiting skiing. Understandably safety checks are necessary after overnight snow, but we were left feeling checks could have been started earlier and completed more quickly. For the price of the ski pass we felt the lift system should have been better. It was fun to explore another ski area, but don't feel we would return to Verbier. Other resorts are cheaper and have superior facilities.
